Obituary for Anna Frances Pruner

Anna Frances  Pruner
Anna Frances Pruner, 95, a lifelong resident of Dover Plains, NY, died on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Wingate at Dutchess in Fishkill, NY. Mrs. Pruner was a food service supervisor at the Harlem Valley Psychiatric Center in Wingdale, NY for 38 years retiring in 1973.

Born on August 17, 1918 in Elberon, NJ, she was the daughter of the late James E. and Mary E. (Martin) Yeno. Mrs. Pruner graduated Dover High School class of 1935 and later received an Associate’s Degree from Dutchess County Community College. In April of 1936 in St. Lawrence County, NY, she married Cory H. Pruner, Sr. who predeceased her on December 24, 1991.

Mrs. Pruner was a member of the Civil Service Employees Association, the senior volunteer program in Dover Plains, NY and enjoyed volunteering at Taconic DDSO in Wassaic, NY. She was also a parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Church in Dover Plains, NY. Mrs. Pruner loved animals and was passionate about their welfare.

She is survived by her two sons, Cory H. Pruner, Jr. of Verbank, NY and David J. Pruner and his wife Patricia, of Wappingers Falls, NY; two brothers, James E. Yeno of Venice, CA and Joseph T. Yeno of Downey, CA and one sister, Dorothy Butts of Pleasant Valley, NY. Mrs. Pruner is also survived by four grandchildren, Bruce Pruner and his wife Colleen, of Athens, NY, Bryan Pruner and his wife Wanda, of Hyde Park, NY, Brent Pruner and his wife Francene, of Bethel, CT and Relsiea Pruner of Verbank, NY and five great-grandchildren, Christopher, Samantha, Sarah, Jillian and Lauren Pruner.

Besides her parents and husband, Mrs. Pruner was predeceased by three sisters, Veronica Pultz, Mary Webb and Kathleen Spenard and a brother, John T. Yeno.

Calling hours will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 24, 2104 at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 63 Mill St. Dover Plains, NY. Burial will follow at St. Charles Cemetery in Dover Plains, NY.
