Samuel P. Kimball, 76, a longtime resident of Wingdale, NY, died on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Danbury Hospital in Danbury, CT. Mr. Kimball was a correction officer at Taconic Correctional Facility in Bedford Hills, NY for 29 years retiring in 1991.

Born on January 30, 1938 in Brushton, NY, he is the son of the Gladys Lauber Kimball of Brushton, NY and the late Joseph Kimball. On July 7, 1962 in Pawling, NY, he married Helen Provost who survives at home.

Mr. Kimball was a former member of the Harlem Valley Golf Club. An avid fisherman, he also enjoyed hunting and gardening.

Besides his mother and wife, he is survived by a daughter, Missy Kimball and her fiancé, Jay Schwab, of Dover Plains and a grandson, Joseph Kimball of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by a son, Michael Kimball on Dec. 18, 1994 and a sister, Barbara McDonald.

Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY. Graveside services and burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at South Dover Rural Cemetery, Route 55, Wingdale, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the J. H.
