Russell M. McRoberts, 81, a longtime resident of Dover Plains, NY died on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, New York. Mr. McRoberts was a sample designer at Tri-Wall Containers Inc. in Wassaic, NY for 35 years retiring in 1991.

Born on April 12, 1936 in Plattsburgh, NY, he was the son of the late Albert A. and Thelma (Watson) McRoberts. On July 2, 1957 in New Milford, CT he married Annie Isabelle Mae Scott who predeceased him on March 26, 2009. Mr. McRoberts was a life member of the Chestnut Ridge Rod and Gun Club. He was an avid hunter and loved the outdoors. Mr. McRoberts was also an avid golfer.

He is survived by his three sons, Alan McRoberts of Sharon, CT, Richard McRoberts and his wife, Jennifer, of Millerton, NY and Stephen McRoberts of Dover Plains, NY. He is also survived by three grandsons, Joshua, Jered and Russell McRoberts; two great-children, Madison and Aiden McRoberts; several nieces and nephews and his companion Betty Beers of Hyde Park, NY. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. McRoberts was predeceased by a brother, Albert McRoberts and two sisters, Barbara Joan Tabor and Beverly Jean Hart.

Graveside services and burial will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 22, 2017 at the Valley View Cemetery, S. Nellie Hill Road, Dover Plains, NY with Pastor Randy Ferris officiating.
