Obituary for Doris W. Northrop

Doris W.  Northrop
Doris W. Northrop, 93, a longtime resident of Hudson, NY, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Florida Hospital in Zephyrhills, FL. Mrs. Northrop worked closely with her husband owning and operating Dan-Ray Farm in Hudson, NY for 50 years. Mrs. Northrop was also a bus driver for Taconic Central Schools.

Born on September 15, 1924 in Sharon, CT she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Ida (Morey) Wheeler. Mrs. Northrop was a graduate of Amenia High School and the Krissler Business School. On November 24, 1948 in Dover Plains, NY she married Raymond J. Northrop who predeceased her in 2008.

Mrs. Northrop is survived by her loving sons, Daniel R. Northrop and his wife, Teri, of Dade, FL and Randy H. Northrop and his wife, Mary, of Evansville, IN. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Lori Snietka, Bryan Northrop, Candice Meinschein, Julie Martin and Michelle Hamblin and six great grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY. Funeral services will take place at 12 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow Amenia Island Cemetery in Amenia, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Five Pine West Plaza, Suite 505, Albany, NY 12205.
