Larry House ~ Manager
Larry has been a licensed funeral director for over 30 years, of which 25 years has been as manager of Hufcut Funeral Home. A native of western New York (Gerry, NY). Larry attended Jamestown Community College in Jamestown, New York and is a graduate of the Simmons School of Mortuary Science and Embalming in Syracuse, New York. Prior to coming to Dover Plains, Larry worked as a licensed funeral director at Beecher Funeral Home in Brewster, New York and Dwyer Funeral Home in Patterson, New York.
Larry is actively involved in numerous community organizations and has served as president of the Dover-Wingdale Chamber of Commerce and the Amenia Lions Club. He is a trustee of the United Methodist Church of Dover Plains, and in 2005, he received the Town of Dover's Community Service Award. For 15 years, he coordinated the Town's Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony. He and his wife, Katie, have two adult children.
Katie (Kathryn) Palmer-House
Katie attended the Simmons School of Mortuary Science in Syracuse, NY and has been a licensed funeral director since 1980. A native of Brewster, NY, Katie worked at Beecher Funeral Home in Brewster before she and Larry moved to Dover Plains, NY in 1985. She has a B.A. in Psychology from Western Connecticut State University in Danbury, CT, an M.A. in Counseling and Community Psychology from Marist College and an Ed.D. in Adult Learning and Leadership from Columbia University and is an adjunct psychology instructor at Dutchess Community College. Katie is a member of the Town of Dover Lions Club, the chaplain of the J.H. Ketcham Hose Company, a lector at St. Charles Borromeo Church and serves on the board of the Foundation for Community Health in Sharon, CT.Scott D. Conklin
Scott has been a licensed Funeral Director for over 15 years. A native of Dover Plains, New York he attended Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, New York and received his A.A.S. in Mortuary Science in 1995. Scott served his apprenticeship at Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home in Dobbs Ferry, New York and also worked as a licensed Funeral Director at Parmele Funeral Home in Poughkeepsie, New York prior to returning to Dover Plains in 1997. Scott has been associated with the Hufcut Funeral Home since 1993 and joined as a full-time licensed Funeral Director in January 2005.
Scott is actively involved in many organizations and is a member of the J.H. Ketcham Hose Company and Rescue Squad since 1990, the Chestnut Ridge Rod & Gun Club, the Dutchess-Putnam-Ulster Funeral Directors Association, and the National Funeral Directors Association. He is currently a director of the Dutchess County Volunteer Fireman's Association and the Hudson Valley Volunteer Fireman's Association. In 2002, Scott received the President's Award for outstanding service to the J.H. Ketcham Hose Company. Scott lives in Dover Plains with his wife Robin and has a son Tyler.
Andrew House
Andrew is currently a mortuary science student at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy. He is a graduate of South Kent School in Kent, CT and has earned a B.A. in Criminal Justice at St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia, PA and a paralegal certificate from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY.
